Whether you've lived here forever or you a new Santa Cruzian, there is always something to discover in our beautiful city. The Santa Cruz Challenge helps locals get to know our county intimately by getting introduced or even re-introduced to about 40 local businesses and professionals that are making a difference in our community. Changing old habits are like trying to pull a tractor tire through thick mud. Ugh! And it's harder when you try to do it alone. We want to see you reaching your health and fitness goals so you can feel like Rocky after he climbed those stairs or Chevy Chase as he runs through the parking lot to Wally World. Covering a span of 12 glorious weeks with a total of 12 different fitness activities and 12 different health topics, the Santa Cruz Challenge provides challenges to people of all physical abilities from the the fittest of fit athletes to the beginner. Adults of every age, weight and ability are encouraged to participate.


Without friends, life would turn really boring. The Santa Cruz challenge often becomes hopelessly infested with people who join forces to dominate our local atmosphere with laughter, sharing and connection. Testing yourself against nature and the elements is a great way to find out what you’re really made of and to see if the forces of earth, wind, and Santa Cruz weather are really as scary or beautiful as you've heard at 6 am (not required).
